Jack
Born in July 2008 at term

Picture
Jack was born at the Lister hospital in 2008.  He was induced because he was 12 days overdue.  As soon as Jack was born he developed an acute breathing condition.  He was rushed from the Delivery Suite to the Special Care Baby Unit for an immediate operation to relieve the breathing problems.  Jack stayed in the Special Care Unit for three days, until well enough to be transferred to the maternity ward for two more days. At five days old Jack came home.

Although Jack was in the Special Care Unit for a relatively short time, it was still a very difficult time for his parents, who had been expecting to take him home the same day that he was born.
